Yummm....chicken

Today was a pretty non-eventful day. We did a few things to prepare for a couple of upcoming "staycations". We went to Wal-Mart, the library, etc. For dinner tonight, I made some chicken fajitas and they were darn good. Since there was nothing else to really take a picture of today, I took a picture of the fajitas. Yummy.

Swimming, Cola and Cattle

So, I haven't posted in about a week. We have really been enjoying ourselves here at the Big L. Anyway, I was good about taking pictures everyday, except for one. (So, I put in two for one day). Enjoy -
07/07: This picture epitomizes most of our summer so far. We have really been enjoying laying out by the pool. Here my buddy was just laying under the umbrella, chillin' and eating some carrots, watermelon and strawberries. This is the life!

07/08: My stud doesn't get a chance to watch much tv since he works so much. But one thing he loves : cattle auctions. They captivate his attention and he loves them. I will admit they are interesting to watch for a few minutes. But the stud, he gets all excited when he sees that it is on.

07/09: Biddy ball. (Yes, that kid's shirt does say Bubba - welcome to Yucaipa). I signed my buddy up for Biddy Ball soccer about a month ago. Basically, its soccer for three and four year olds. They kick the ball around, run, etc. My buddy has not played once. He sits on the sidelines. He did great this day though - they took pictures and he smiled great!

On a side note, I must make a comment on how people get crazy over their preschool aged children. I get that they want them to be cute. But some of these parents dress their kids up in full-on soccer gear including shin guards and cleats. Is this necessary?

07/10: So, this picture wasn't actually taken on the tenth. I forgot. But, we did play on the trampoline.

07/11: We held The Great Cola Test at the soda shop. It was a lot of fun, although not as many attendees as the Root Beer Challenge in June. Basically, people were given blind samples of 12 different types of colas. Then, they rated them and made comments. Then, a winning cola was announced. I had the honor of being in charge of pouring all of the colas.

07/12: Adventure City! This is a fun, little amusement park geared for small children. They have about a dozen rides that pretty much every child can go on (although there were 3 or 4 that Baby Banana was not allowed on). The price is right and we had a good time with our besties!

07/13: That brings us to today. Grandma came over and the kids had such a good time. We didn't do anything too exciting, we just looked at pictures, played, went swimming and then watched Toy Story, but it was a nice time and the children really enjoyed having her.

Summer Fun

Today we had a few people over from the stud's shop. We swam and had a bbq. We also had a bbq on the Fourth of July, my last day of work and for my friend's daughter's third birthday. We have been living it up in the pool and enjoying the summertime fun. This is our pool today after the event. I am really enjoying the pool. My buddy has become quite the little swimmer and I fully expect him to be swimming like a pro by the end of the summer. Baby Banana, however, I will just be happy if she will get in the pool without crying!

Here we go again...

I really do want to blog, I do. Sometimes I am not sure what to say. Sometimes I don't have time. Sometimes I just don't want to. But, I have decided to give it a shot. I am off work on summer break right now, so it seems like the perfect time.

I have decided to do the 365 picture thing. This is where you take a picture every single day. Now, I am not guaranteeing that I will post everyday, but I will take a picture and get it posted...eventually :)

So, for my first picture -
We started potty training again today. I think my buddy might really be ready this time. So far we have had one success, sort of. He went pee on the potty, but forgot to take off his underwear. I am still thrilled! Good job buddy!
